Meet Dr. Abigail Pinnock
Island Mobile Vets
Meet Your Veterinarian
Dr. Abigail Pinnock (aka Abi or Dr. Abi) grew up in Jamaica with a passion for animals and a dream of becoming a veterinarian from a very early age. At the age of 23, she finally fulfilled that dream after attending vet school at The University of the West Indies in Trinidad & Tobago and completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Today, Dr. Abi is now the proud owner of her own practice, Island Mobile Vets, a mobile veterinary practice serving dogs, cats, birds, and farm animals across Jamaica.
Before starting Island Mobile Vets, Dr. Abi completed large animal vet internships at the Tuskegee College of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama and the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Canada. She then returned home to Jamaica to work at the Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA) in Kingston, where she developed a passion for surgery and soon became the lead surgeon on staff.
Abigail is a firm believer in facing her fears and did just that in 2020, by entering the Miss Universe Jamaica Beauty Pageant and making it all the way to the finals to become the first runner-up Miss Universe Jamaica.
During her time off she also enjoys dancing, going on new adventures, and spending time with her adorable five Pomeranians.
